I'm pretty sure the watchOS 6.1.1 update fixes this. Did for me.

Same issue for me on the Series 1. As soon as I updated it from watchOS 5 to 6.1 to pair with my new iPhone 11 the timer app will freeze and not reset. Force closing does not fix it, only a watch restart does. It has happened every time I have used the app and I have restarted the watch 4 times now. Hope it gets fixed soon.

My Apple watch Timer gets stuck on resume nearly every time I use it, which is 4 to 5 times per week, since the 6.1 update also. As per someones suggestion, Siri can start the Timer or resume but cannot cancel it. I have to restart my Apple watch

I have the same problem on 6 month old Series 4 watch. Restarting solves it for one use. Problem has been since iOS 6.1 update last week.

I force quit and restarted the watch and the time started working for a time then froze again. I’ve had this watch since last December and this issue only started with the last watch iOS release is this going to be remediated?

I am having this same problem on a series 4 watch. I use the timer on a daily basis for multiple repeats of a custom time and this is the first time this problem has occurred across all OS versions from a series 3 to 4 going back about 2 years!

This is a bug! It appeared the day after the 6.x update. I get one use of the timer (after watch reboot), then it freezes when I hit repeat. Not cool and definitely not useable.

I believe this is a bug in version 6.x as that is when I first noticed it. I use the timer extensively on my AW3, setting it for 25 minutes as a reminder to get up and walk away from the computer. I repeat this through the entire work day. For years I have been doing this, going back to the AW1, and it has performed flawlessly. Ever since I updated to 6.1, it will work for only a certain number of times before freezing. I can force quit the app, open other other apps, etc. However, when I go back into the timer app it is still on the custom time but doesn't allow you to start it again. Rebooting is the only way to fix it. After 4 or 5 times the problem comes right back. I hope they fix it soon, as for me, it is one of the reasons I went with Apple vs Garmin. True story.

Restarting works but then the same issue reoccurs. I use this feature a couple of times a day and for the cost of this watch seems ridiculous that I have to restart the watch every time I need to use this feature.

When will this bug be fixed?

I’ve had the same problem, thought I was going mad, I’ve powered off as suggested will see how long it lasts, but is an obvious bug

Same problem here on my wife’s watch 3. Power cycle fix works temporarily, then it freezes again.

After the last iPhone update my watch timer is working perfect, no more freezing. I have the iwatch series 4.

Just update your paired phone

The timer on my Apple Watch 3 freezes. Can’t reset or resume. Watch needs to be powered off or you can set timer time using Siri. Annoying!
