IMAP “Cannot Verify Server Identity” in iOS 13.1

HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP. I still get this error on my iOS 13.1.2 iPhoneXS as well as my MBP 2018 10.15.1(although the actual error message does't pop up on my macbook, all of my gmail accounts are offline). This happens only when I'm at my girlfriend's place. She also has Xfinity service provider but her router is an older Linksys N router when mine is a newer NetGear Nighthawk. Is it possible a router setting could be causing this problem?? I've tried resetting everything short of a hard reset ( i've shutdown my phone countless times to fix this, has been working the past few weeks but today it doesn't help).

This problem seems to happen at the most inconvenient of times, I'm beyond frustrated.... faith in apple has dwindled tremendously...

Check out this related thread. It looks like the broken "details" button is a genuine bug. There may be a workaround. I'm gearing up to test it myself later today.
