Disk First Aid stuck at "extents" error

I have Mohave. Computer is running extremely slow. Tried to run Disk Utility First Aid and computer locks up with error below.

The startup disk has suffered some degree of corruption, which may or may not be fixable.


If you did not run Disk Utility's First Aid function from Recovery mode, then do that: Repair a disk using Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support.


Back up your Mac if you're not already doing so. To learn how to use Time Machine please read Back up your files with Time Machine on Mac.
