Is it possible to open Pages (or any other non-Google documents) on Google Drive offline?

After getting the new iPad OS update (13.1), I haven't been able to open documents on my Google Drive offline. Whenever I try to open a document (Pages specifically) offline, it won't work, even if I've already opened it recently. When I'm on a Pages document (saved to my drive) offline, it works perfectly fine until I exit it and try go back into it, and it doesn't look like there's a "save offline" option that will let me edit the document(s) on Pages offline (when I try to save it offline, it only lets me view the document offline). I can open documents on my iCloud drive perfectly fine, though. So is there a solution or setting I'm unaware that would fix this problem, or is there some workaround?

Hello FLMusic!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. From your message it sounds like you are wanting to be able to access your Google Drive documents while offline so you can then open them in Pages on your iPad. If this is correct, the first step would be to save the document to iCloud Drive in Files. Once it’s located there, you will be able to access it while the iPad is offline if you have chosen to do so. You can read more about how iCloud Drive works with Pages, for offline editing here: Pages for iPad: Use iCloud Drive with Pages

This link will take you to the section on how to use third-party apps in Files: Use the Files app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You can learn more about files with the other topics in this article.

If you find you need more assistance, Contact Apple Support. Be sure to select Music, Apps & Services > iOS Apps > Pages for iOS to get in touch with the Pages support team.

Cheers!
