How can I select instruments for the vocoder?

So I have successfully added a vocoder of my vocal track, and it sounds good. But from the tutorials on youtube I saw that they can select instruments for the vocoder in the library, however when I clicked on the vocoder track, the library becomes empty, as shown in the image. Is there any way I can select different instruments? Or do I have to download them somewhere?

First, what you are looking for are not instruments. They are Vocoder Presets. Just in case you're searching the Internet for a solution.

First thing to try is to reload the Essential Sounds:

  • Choose Logic Pro X > Sound Library > Open Sound Library Manager...
  • Then re-check the first entry in that window, Essential sounds...
  • Click install.

Let us know of the result.
