Set up issues with homekit

I’m having problems getting HomeKit to work. I was able to set my Sonos one speaker to home. Currently that’s the only item I have connected

when I try and set a shortcut with itunes to Sonos the shortcut doesn’t see the accessories? Do I need to add the (iPad) hub to get shortcut and other automation.

i also have an (older) insight Wemo remote. I wouldn’t expect to be able to connect this, but if I go to settings and the wemo icon, when I open it it shows me that home is active? That must be agendric type of setting for all their smart items?
