Capture outside frame not working?

As the title says, I have Capture outside the frame enabled. But after taking loads of a photos not a single one can I find a way to do this in edit. There is no option under markup, not when going into the straight in tool.

I cannot figure out if I am doing something, in my iphone is faulty or if this is a software bug.

Does anyone else suffer the same issue?

I was finally able to get mine to work today. I have the ios 13.1.2 loaded. I then went in and turned off the 2 capture features (Photo & Video) then closed the settings app. opened the camera, then went back in and turned on the "capture outside of frame" toggle. It now works for the 1st time.

It does work. I had the same problem until I got to know how it works. Many of us think, it should work in all the conditions if its Turned On. Which is not true. This only works when there is a good lights. Because in this feature, the complete image is captured by two different cameras and then it gets merged as a single image. If the lighting is not good enough for iPhone to merge those two images, this feature will not work. please step outside or try taking a pic under good lights scene. Hope that helps. :)

The feature will only work in well lit conditions.

Why?

Because the additional picture information is captured by the ultra-wide lens and this lens performs very differently, especially in sub-optimal lighting conditions. Without a well lit scene, picture information captured by the ultra-wide will not balance well enough with the photo captured by the main lens, and therefore cannot be blended to the main photograph in edit mode.

Think about it. If the photo is taken in poor light, the excellent main lens will capture a well exposed image with plenty of detail, but the ultra-wide will capture a poorly exposed image with poor detail. These two photos cannot be combined.

Hello Nick B73.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I understand that you’re unable to edit photos captured outside of the frame although it is enabled. I’m happy to help.

Apple has just released iOS 13.1.2. Please use the steps here to back up and update: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Once you’ve completed these steps, please check to see if you’re able to edit photos Captured outside of the frame.

Take care.

It's incredibly frustrating and I've already updated twice within the last week and on 13.1.2. I've turned all options off and then on and nothing... Not only that, ever since updating to 13.1.2, I have been having migraines every time I use the phone for more than 10 min. I have 2 Pro Max's 512 Gb and both have a slight flickering and that bothers me. When I use my X or XR, it's fine. It's only the Pro Max that I have the headaches. Posted on twitter and everywhere else but no reply from Apple either. Kind of disappointed.
