iPhone 11 pro Bluetooth dropping calls

Phone is now on 13.1 also had same issues out of the box. When using Bluetooth in my Toyota and Subaru the phone drops every call after about 2 minutes. No issues with music only calls. So far I did a hard reset after the phone locked up, I have forgotten Bluetooth devices and reconnected. No luck. Any insight would be great.

I also have issues with the latest update 13.1.2

Monday prior to update my car stereo worked fine for music and calls. All of my data showed on the car stereo, could see contacts in my phone book, call history ect.

After the update my phone connects to the car with bluetooth but I cannot make calls, cannot see call history and cannot see the phone book contacts either.

I have done everything apple advised and still doesn't work and they dont seem to care.

I have -

forgot all bluetooth devices and re-paired

reset the phone

reset car stereo

re-paired bluetooth again

reset network settings

reset the entire phone and reinstalled software ect

again forgot all devices, reset phone and stereo then repaired.

Still doesn't work! And now Apple want me to call the stereo manufacturer and ask them if my stereo is compatible with ios 13.1.2 !!

Yeh im sure they manufacturer is going to know seeing as there is no details I can find anywhere on what this update does to bluetooth besides supposed to fix it.

So now just wondering how long it will be before I will be able to make calls and receive calls in my car again :(

Is so sad that such as great company have been created this awful product. I have the same problem and none couldn’t help me. They only keep my money on their hands and said me sorry is anything we can do! I don’t know what can I do. Is really frustrated. I need my car and the phone too. This is my first IPhone and my last one too. If some find a solution please let us know 😏

I don't known if this will help, but I hope it does. My wife and I have the same phone, but she does not experience the bluetooth crackling and disconnect calls. However, I did. I change the SIM, re-pair all bluetooth devices. Today, I decided to go to apple store, which they ran diagnostic on the phone. The diagnostic results showed that everything was fine with the phone. So, we backed-up the phone, and wiped the phone clean. However, instead of restoring from backup, we setup as a new phone. This seems to fixed the issue on my phone. I talked to my wife for about one hour, and everything was fine. The only thing that sucked is that I had to manually re-download all the apps that I had.

So, it seems that my first restore to iPhone 11 had something corrupted.

I hope this helps. Good luck

I went to Verizon to return phone and go back to Xs. They said all new phones will have iOS 13 installed . I went to Apple store and they confirmed it. Once you go to 13, you can’t go back to problem free 12. . If I go back to my old iPhone X using my Apple ID and restore with iCloud, it will restore to iOS 13 unless I restore my old phone as new and reinstall all apps, contacts, etc. even if I go back to a 7 or 8, restoring from iCloud account , which has the upgrade to iOS 13, will have the same issues.

it’s not a hardware issue. It’s iOS 13. Thirteen turns out to truly be unlucky.

I have replaced the iPhone 11 pro, done factory resets, forgot the device when it comes to pairing and have even taken my 2017 Toyota Tacoma in to the dealer and had them install the latest firmware. My radio will literally shut off after two minutes while I’m on my Bluetooth and then turn itself back on. And then it will drop the calls about 1/2 the time as well.

The problem has to be with the iPhone (11 with 13.1.2 in my case). It has happened with two different headsets, Motorola Boom 2 and Boom 2+ and in my Kia Soul radio. On the headset it drops the pairing, audio ceases, and then comes on with an audio message "ready to pair, go to Bluetooth menu on your phone and enter 0000 if requested to complete pairing". It then restores the pairing automatically and the headset once again has audio.

This issue isn’t limited to in-car Bluetooth. I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max (on iOS 13.1.3) and several of my Bluetooth earphones lose the Bluetooth connection randomly (but frequently) while on calls or recording voice memos. (The issue does not occur when simply listening to music.) The call doesn’t drop — just the Bluetooth connection. Sometimes it automatically reconnects, sometimes it doesn’t — but it’s impossible to have a call (and certainly a business call) under those circumstances. This makes the iPhone basically useless for Bluetooth calls, period. That’s quite a significant loss of functionality.

The issue is either with the iPhone 11 or iOS, because it occurs on several Bluetooth earphones from several manufacturers. I swapped my iPhone 11 Pro Max for another iPhone 11 Pro Max at the Apple store last weekend (thinking it was a problem with my specific phone), but the issue persists with the new phone, so this is a problem with the Bluetooth implementation.

I have several brands of Bluetooth earphones experiencing this problem. The issue is pronounced on the new Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro earphones (but occurs on other brands of earphones, such as the Sony WF-1000XM3, as well).

I’m going to try turning off voice-over-LTE, as suggested above — but I’m not happy about that, because it limits the functionality of the phone — and I’m not optimistic that it will fix anything, because the Bluetooth connection also drops randomly when recording voice memos, which presumably doesn’t involve LTE.

Apple really needs to fix this — it’s a huge fail. If this is a hardware problem, they are going to have to swap out a lot of new iPhones.
