Since I updated my iPhone X to iOS13, my Homepod won't send a text message. It responds to Hey Siri, will make a phone call, play music etc but when I ask it to send a text the colour spins on the to for a second then goes back to playing the music.
I've unplugged it overnight and plugged it in again and done a reboot on my phone but still no joy.
Any ideas?

Yeah I'm already on 13.1.1 and had rebooted the Pod several times with no joy.
So in the end I was getting so frustrated that I removed the Pod from the Home App, did a factory re-set and set it up again, seems fine now.

Make sure Personal Requests are turned on.
HomePod and iPhone must be on the same wifi network
try resetting network settings on your phone
also in iCloud on your phone, make sure Home is enabled
Everything was set up as it should be. In the end I did a complete reset of it and set it up from the start. All is good now.
I’ve just tried this on my HomePods and it worked fine
There is a iOS update. iOS 13.1.1
Try installing that and rebooting HomePod
Ios13 for HomePod will hopefully be released this week

It's not sending them again! I've not changed anything!! So frustrating! HomePod will do everything else ... it will make phone calls ... but when I ask it to send a text it just glows for a few seconds then reverts to playing the music it was already playing!
I rectified it last time by factory resetting and linking to my phone again surely I don't have to do this every time I want to use it?!!!!!
Let’s hope that iOS 13 for HomePod if it’s ever release solves these problems
