iOS 13 mail default inbox

Up until now, iOS mail always displayed the "all inboxes" as the default on using mail. Since upgrading to 13, and now 13.1, it defaults to, and changes back to when changing focus to another app, one of the 2 accounts inbox I have on mail. It is not the default send account.

I have looked for a setting, seeing the default sending account but not the default display account or inbox.

This is simply annoying. Which is not why I opt up to an iPhone in the first place.

That’s seems to be so but that is not the only trigger from all inboxes to the first inbox in the list of accounts. It seems random. Obviously isn’t but I can not figure out what makes it happen.

This isn’t the only annoyance. I find that the screen sometimes locks up so as not to scroll, respond to any dragging, presses, etc.

I find that I can remedy this by turning the display from portrait to landscape and back again and then all returns to normal.

Absolutely! This is for sure an issue, but or otherwise, that needs to be fixed. I was greatly disappointed after just applying another update recently that this (among a handful of others) is still an issue! Steve Jobs has to be spinning in his grave! I’ve never seen so many issues in a single Apple product before, this is really unfortunate, but if not fixed by end of Q1, my IOS devices my get replaced.

I hope there’s a fix for this. It’s very frustrating. I have 7 accounts, if I open mail from one and archive or delete it I end up in that inbox only. Then wonder why I have more mail notifications and realize I need to go back and choose all mailboxes again. Even then, there seems to be a delay in the notification system of iOS 13. When I clear texts, calls or mail it still shows I have notifications for a good 10 seconds. This makes me reopen the app and look to find nothing. How does this stuff get past beta?! I was in a beta once and couldn’t believe how long it lasted. There shouldn’t be so many bugs lol!

Mail used to default to whatever was there too displayed category, which I always used a custom category of Unread. Now mine constantly opens All Inboxes, despite my turning it off and not even being able to see it! The unread filter can be applied I believe to any category, but when you initially go to it, you see read and unread mail both. You have to toggle the filter to get it to reapply! ****** annoying!! Plus, why it continues to go back to All Inboxes, which I have disabled, is beyond me! I have my Unread and All Drafts categories only enabled, everything else is disabled, but the issue persists.

I simply want it to work as it did, only load my custom Unread category, properly display only the unread emails, not jump to other categories automatically and make/let me have to manually select the category I want.

I'm on ios 13.2.3. When I open email I get the Inbox for my default email box. I like to see all my inboxes. **It used to open on All Inboxes view which is by far the handiest way to check all important email.** Now it takes 2 taps to get the proper view. What a nuisance. And inefficient.

I also noticed that if I open/expand view of a non-default email acct in the Mailboxes view, that acct stays open/expanded no matter how many times I close it. i.e., I close the non-default acct, close my email app, yet the next time I open the email app that non-default acct is open/expanded again. I have no idea why this is happening.

ios email app used to be good. Now it's a mess, doesn't make sense what it does and it's inconvenient to use.

Apple, you screwed up a good email app. ios 13 is buggy beyond belief. Please fix!

And bring back "All Inboxes" view as the default view when opening email app.

I’ve been having the same issues. Though, I prefer to use an “Unread” mailbox I created, it simply needs to go back to how it was!

The fact this release has had so many bugs is beyond ridiculous! It’s even more ridiculous that after 3 bug fixes, it’s still not fixed!!

Apple has sure gone down the tubes from what it has built its reputation on. Time for Tim and the board to pack their bags!

I uninstalled the Mail App and then reinstalled it did not help.

However I navigated to All Inboxes and turned phone to landscape and then closed the app, turned to portrait and then reopened the app and it's back to normal. Thanks for the Tip !!!!!

However it still is a frustration as many other things in iOS 13. The Apple iPhone developers need to go to a mental hospital till they get cured of this garbage approach to updates that are NOT what the people WANT!
