Apple Watch glass popped off

Saw a previous question. Would like to know why Apple doesn't just fix those detached faceplates for free since it's nothing but a small strip of double faced adhesive holding the glass in place. Can't believe that we have to search around for a solution from a third party and fix it ourselves - or find someone other than Apple (who seems to use it as a way to force us to buy a new one) to fix it. There's a third party company that sells an adhesive strip. Not sure how well it works and I'm sure it will void anything that Apple might repair, but if it's out of warranty - we're out of luck anyway. Would LOVE to see a response from Apple on this. There's always Twitter. Nothing like a little bad advertising right before Christmas to elicit a response.

Hello sister mary constance,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities for help with your Apple Watch and the glass that popped off. You will need to set up a repair online, or make an appointment and have the device inspected by a certified tech in an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Store.

Hi, sorry for the delay in answering. Yes, I looked at the costs to fix my Apple Watch and found them to be extremely expensive for what is a known problem. Thank you for the info, though. I figured that I could try using a silicone adhesive per recommendations from other online sources or get a new one - which I can't afford and need a new Mac before a new watch. So, for now the glue is holding. Such a shame that Apple refused to send out notices via an email or a text msg, even if the person who originally bought the watch no longer owned it. It's that kind of failure to consider their customers that turns people off. Apple's products have always been higher priced than competitors. If they want to maintain them as permanent customers they should make sure to appease the ones they have. I know. I worked there prior to some health problems that landed me in the hospital. Their 3-strikes rule is cruel. They don't value their employees either. I've been an Apple person since 1980's, but I completely understand why people decide to go with a different company. It's a piece of adhesive tape that isn't even worth a few cents. Wouldn't a smart company fix that for free?
