Lagging on Passcode/Lock Screen

Hello! I just updated to iOS 13.1.1 on my iPhone 8+. Everything is working great except for the Passcode/Lock Screen. If my phone is locked, when I go to put in the Passcode, it acknowledges the first three numbers (I watch them highlight as I touch them) but then when I touch the fourth it kicks me out and says my passcode was wrong. The only way I can get my phone to unlock now is if I go much slower with touching the numbers.

Does anybody know why this update can’t handle my normal speed of logging in with my Passcode?

I've already turned off/turned on, synced with iTunes, and hard reset (volume up/down, power button hold). I really don’t want to wipe the whole phone and reset to factory and then have to redownload/sync everything. is this maybe a temporary bug?

I don’t want to switch to fingerprint...I like the ease of the Passcode.

Thanks for your help/suggestions in advance!

To the OP,

I too was experiencing similar issues with my IPhone X (there was a delay between me actually entering the passcode to the phone eventually unlocking.)

Switched the phone off and then back on again - to no avail. Was then on Google finding out what the problem could be, I found that I should try clearing my notifications (not that I had that many at all).

Cleared my notifications and then my phone was all back to normal.

Maybe try if this helps? Sorry if you have already tried this.

Hello there, dmp1117!

I see you're running into a delay when entering your passcode, and frequently causes you to be told that the passcode is incorrect. I'd be happy to provide you with some troubleshooting.

Since you mention you're running iOS 13.1.1, try updating to the latest version: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Same problem. Drives me crazy because I used to open my iPad and iPhone instantaneously by typing the passcode so fast that nobody would even be able to tell what I was typing. Now I have to plod it so slow that I feel I'm broadcasting my passcode to the world.

My belief is that Apple is intentionally slowing down the passcode screen to force people to use fingerprint or face so they can enlarge their database of our biometrics. The same way they slow down older devices and weaken batteries to make us buy new devices.

I’ve noticed this right off the bat on 13.3. The haptic feedback used to keep up with me and now I regularly have to stop, slow down, and even still it takes a few attempts to unlock using the passcode.

My phone gets turned off multiple times a day for work, how can I fix this problem?

I did not have this problem prior to whichever version dark mode came out on.

I can even see the buttons don’t light up if I go fast. Not the wrong key, no key highlights when pressed, usually 3 or 4 digits into my code.

This problem is new. Help?

Unfortunately, I still haven’t gotten this figured out. With all the people/support I’ve reached out to, no one has been able to give me a legit answer to why this started happening - and no one has been able to give me a solution. I ended up switching to FaceID to make my life easier. It’s not my preference, but it lowers my frustration...
