I'm English so I obviously use English and no problem.
Mu wife is French and today she started us using my MacBook, so I set it up for her to use in French and got her a French keyboard. So far so good, except that her password only works when the MacBook is on English! When it's set to French the password is not accepted??? any clue how to get round this????
Are you working with 2 accounts, one in French and one in English?
On the login page, are you switching the input source to French (top right corner menu) when logging into the French account?

So is your problem that your wife's password does not work when she is using the azerty keyboard but does work when the British keyboard is active? Please explain in more detail.
