Apple Watch keeps prompting to "Sign in to complete purchase"

I understand you are getting prompts on your Apple Watch to "Sign in to Complete Purchase." Did you recently update your Apple Watch to watchOS 6? These prompts might be coming from the App Store for the Apple Watch that is available with this new update. watchOS 6.0.1 was released on September 30. I would suggest updating your iPhone and your Apple Watch to the most recent operating systems. Then open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and tap "My Watch." Tap Settings > General. If "Automatic App Install" is enabled, turn it off.

I am having the same issue almost constant "sign in to complete purchase" and it is killing my battery life as I get a vibration every time it asked me to do this... I am very interested if there is a way to stop this as I am the most annoyed at my watch that I have ever been. I have updated to 6.1 and have "automatic app install" off and still receive the vibration and message.

I cannot get rid of the massage "sign in to complete purchase" I have not made any purchase. Help! I tried turning off "automatic APP install" but, it did not fix the problem. Both the phone and the watch were updated recently.

This is happening to me, too. The apple ID I'm being prompted with is an old one I no longer use, and I can't remember the password. I have changed the settings as directed but it didn't stop it. Seems like lots of us are having this problem; Apple needs to help us fix it.

I’m having the same problem with Sign In to Complete Purchase. Have followed all suggestions here but nothing has worked. Why would Apple send a message with ZERO CONTEXT so you don’t know where to go to sign in? It has made my Watch unusable...

I have the same problem. phone and watch updated. i have turned off the auto update. it worked briefly. in have also uninstalled the apps that are trying to instal. i cannot use watch. it is killing battery.

Yeah, this is absolutely infuriating. None of the suggested fixes are working, and my watch is essentially useless when it constantly keeps prompting me for some old Apple ID that I no longer use. It does so maybe 9 or 10 times in a row. I'm about ready to switch watch brands. This new update ruined the watch functionality.

I got mine to stop-finally- by changing something in the settings. Unfortunately I changed so many things I don’t know which one worked. Somebody at Apple should know, though, and somebody needs to help the folks on this thread out. I’m posting just to say don’t give up, even as infuriating as it is now.

This is ridiculous. Getting that confirm purchase with no context as to what it is after updating to the new watch IOS and phone IOS. I have followed the recommendations by turning off automatic app updates and still have issues. I notice apple is being quite now on this. Maybe if we all send the Wall Street Journal a quick email letting them know the issue we are experiencing we might get a fix as complaining on this thread does not seem to be doing any good. Apple - we do not spend good money on the watch only to have this kind of experience and have you ignore us.

Same. Update both phone and watch to latest iOS version and still get a near constant alert on the watch

both phony and watch are updated. I followed the instructions but it’s still happening!!!

Perhaps the Apple Watch needs a minor OS update.

I have the same problem with my Apple Watch it's drive me crazy !!!!!

For me the problem was a flying app. I delete it and now everything is ok.
