How to disable automatic import to Photos on Mac OS

Have anyone an idea how to disable automatic import to Photos after connecting the camera of putting an SD card to a computer with Mac OS?

Usually Photos does not import the photos. It should only show you the photos on the device, ready for import. As long as you do not select photos to be imported and click "Import", the photos will not be imported.


But you can disable Photos from launching and showing you the photos. In the Import panel, below the toolbar, should be a checkmark "Open Photos for this device". Disable this checkmark. The next time you insert the card or connect the device, Photos will not open (as long as you do not format the card and make it a new device this way).
