iTunes not showing any text in sync menus. They are grayed out.

Hi,

Please see attached photo. iTunes displays as it should when on version 12.9.1.4 but when upgrading to a newer version (this time to the latest version-- 12.10.0.7) and connecting my phone (iPhone 7), the boxes where sync or backup etc should be are gray and there is no text showing. I've had this before and had to revert to 12.9.1.4 but now with iOS 13.1.2, I need to find a fix for this issue as it appears I will never be able to upgrade my iTunes as long as this issue exists. I am using Windows 7 on an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC (x64-based, core i7 processor, 8GB system memory). Please advise. Thanks!

I spent over an hour with Apple support and nobody had an answer... it was escalated to 3 different people and still nothing. I had a feeling it was something with the display. Here is THE fix that worked perfectly for me (sadly Apple support didn’t suggest this). It is simple and fast. I changed my windows theme from an Aero theme to a Windows basic theme. After this, everything displayed as it should. I can’t believe I wasted so much time with support. I would think they would have seen this before and could tell me to try this simple thing. So, there you go..l know someone, somewhere is experiencing this problem and hopefully can benefit from my finding. Cheers!
