Hello niall130,

It sounds like you aren't seeing Predictive emojis when using the keyboard on your new iPhone 11. I can understand reaching out for help when your new iPhone isn't working the way you expect it to, and I'm happy to be the one to provide you with that help.

Before you try any troubleshooting steps, I want you to keep in mind that you have to use an emoji at least 5 times in the same app to start seeing Predictive emoji. For example, if you type in the word "happy" in Messages on your new iPhone, you won't see Predictive emoji for that word right away. However, if you've used the one of the happy face emojis at least 5 times in Messages, you begin to see it as Predictive emoji when you type "happy". View more on using emojis here: Use emoji on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

If you have used the same emoji several times in the same app on your new iPhone and still aren't seeing it as a Predictive emoji, here are some steps for you to try. Test out Predictive emoji after each step is completed:

  1. Verify Predictive is enabled in Settings > General > Keyboards.
  2. Restart your device: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  3. Update to the most recent software version available for your iPhone (iOS 13.1.2): Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  4. Remove the Emoji keyboard and then add it back. To remove it, go to Settings > Keyboard. Tap Edit, and tap on the minus sign next to the Emoji keyboard, and then tap Done. To add the keyboard back, select Add New Keyboard on the same screen, and select the Emoji keyboard from the list.
