A1708 (MacBook Pro 2016-2017) and A1466 (MacBook Air 2012-2017) are used on models across years and are not specific models.
You should not mix MBA and MBPs.
If you plan to use the A1708 as a Windows-only computer, you will run into issues. The standard W10 installer will not recognize any Apple hardware, including storage. BC Assistant builds a WinPE (Pre-boot Environment) in ($WinPEDriver$) on a USB or OSXRESERVED (depending on year/model), which helps the W10 installer recognize Apple-specific hardware. Without these drivers, even if your installer boots, your keyboard/mouse/trackpad may not function. Your screen may not work due to lack of GPU drivers.
Current Macs use Install Windows 10 on your Mac with Boot Camp Assistant - Apple Support steps. Older Macs use Install Windows on your older Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support. You cannot mix the two.
