I just recently bought an Apple Watch series 5 and when the watch face is exposed to direct sunlight the screen starts flashing on and off. I have the always on mode turned on and the watch will auto-dim. Not sure why this is happening and would like to fix it if possible. Any thoughts?

I realise it is not ideal but is it possible for you to upload a video to iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, YouTube, etc. and provide a link to show what the issue is?
Additionally, just a few related questions:
Unfortunately the possible causes are still fairly broad at this point - it is entirely possible you are having issues with the ambient light sensor, or it could be related to operating temperature, etc. I would also suggest biting the bullet and doing a pair and unpair and a clean set up of your watch just to eliminate setup/connectivity as potential factors.
I had the same issue of green light flashing on my Apple Watch series 5 when exposed to direct sunlight. This is annoying.

I had the same issue as stated. Got a replacement Apple Watch. The replacement model didn’t have the issue.

The best solution is to return the watch. Wait for series 6. this problem will not be solved any more.
