iPad 10.5" Pro, with iPad OS 13.1 and external SSD stopped working when USB3 software was updated.

I have an iPad Pro 10.5". Now with iPad OS 13.1.2 and the new Files system I learned that it could be used with an external memory. I bought a 500GB SSD (SanDisk) and the Apple "USB-C to Lightning Cable" and did not work. I called Apple Support and they told me that the cable I needed was "Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter" and it WORKED! Finally, my iPad getting closed to my MacBook Pro.

Today, when I connected the "Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter" and my SSD, the iPad, it asks if I wanted to "update the software of the adapter" which I did; it was stupid to update! now the adapter STOPPED WORKING and I do not know how to reverse the update.

It is disappointing as this is a brand new adapter from Apple store at $39.
