Hotspot not working on OS 13.1.2

“Not a priority”.. That’s what you love to hear. This is obviously affecting many people, how is it not a priority? We have a ton of skilled nurses and therapists running a batch file I created every other day just to temporarily remedy your 13.1 hotspot issue, so thank you for that amazing glimmer of hope.

How about inspecting what code was changed from 13 to 13.1 and rolling it back since it is obviously broken?

I have an iphone 6s and prior to the ios 13 update, I was able to use the Personal Hotspot to connect my win 7 laptop to the internet. Since the 13.0 update, I am unable to make connection to the internet. The Wifi shows that I am connected but, when I click on a site, it says I have no internet connection. This issue has not been resolved with the last two updates to the iphone. I have tried everything Apple has put on the link to "fix" this problem with the personal hot spot not connecting to the internet, and, their suggestions are obviously not working for most of us. This is extremely frustrating Apple. Please figure out the issue and HELP us out here!!

can you tell us if 13.2.2 fixes the hotspot connection problem? I’m using your workaround successfully. I’m afraid to load any apple updates now, for fear that or something else will stop working. (Sad). I’m hoping you are braver than me and that it’s been fixed! Thank you for your service to the apple community.

I’m not sure. Also not sure how this issue hasn’t been written about yet in the tech media? I’ve sent the topic to a few tech journalists, figured they’d be interested in adding this issue to their articles about all the other faults in iOS 13, but so far, crickets.

I have done the same and have been thinking the same thing. Yet Apple took out a rapid fix for "multitasking" not working. How in the world is multitasking anywhere near as important as a feature that 1 is being paid to my carrier, and 2 debilitates work flow productivity by compromising my ability to use my laptop away from work.

that does work intermittently, not always. Sometimes takes up to 45 tries or an hour to connect, then does not stay connected. Once we move locations, which is about every 30-45 minutes, we go through the process again. It's a pain, to say the least.

Disappointing to see such old threads on this topic. I got a new iPhone XR, at which point I finally allowed the upgrade to 13.3 from 12.x. Now my hotspot is broken as others report. Somehow Verizon claims they have no record of issues with iOS 13 causing this. I get the same rehashed - "reset all your settings, throw your phone in the toilet, build it again from toothpicks and aluminum cans then try again".

My Jetpack is fine but I need the data from both devices for my job. Gonna see if Verizon can cancel this iPhone upgrade and switch to a droid if an issue this glaring can sit for over three months without a real fix.

Hi Kasey. It’s STILL not working properly. I am on 13.3 and it’s even worse. Having other issues with this version as well.....

Apple conformed with me on the phone the bug in 13.....

Verizon didn’t even know about. They keep blaming two different cell towers stating they were very busy....

JJD---since you seem to be super informed on all this...do you have a workaround for using Chromebooks? I'm still dead in the water. Cannot use release/renew commands on ChromeOS systems. HELP! My entire team is about to lose their minds!

apple as the worst hotspots on the planet. Half way through down loads and it deactivates. About ten or twenty times a day I’m resetting my connection. Sky box never auto connects. My Samsung s2 as a more advanced tether.

I don't use my hotspot very much, but when I use it I REALLY need it. Kind of amazing to me that something like this was overlooked before release, especially since it's not like hotspot is some crazy new feature that's still a bit buggy. It's ancient!

This stuff really really frustrates me about Apple. They're rushing pedal to the medal to pump out new hardware, new software, new features, and their quality has suffered. Even worse, they refuse to admit their mistakes. Apple used to stand for quality, I miss those days... I would rather wait twice as long for the next iteration of whatever product and have it actually be good, completely.

Yup. Until it’s fixed my iPhone as gone in a draw and now I’m thinking of upgrading. I don’t want to go back to Apple. It’s a deal breaker for me. No tether no me as a customer. Sorry Apple. I have had all I’m taking

Do you have any idea of how I might release / renew the ifconfig on a samsung TV?? Or some other way to trick the TV into doing this??

Still a problem in 13.4. Had an Android phone connected to my 11 Pro via hotspot. After a few minutes it lost connection, then automatically reconnected, but then after a minute it lost the connection for good. Ugh...

Did not work for me .... still only works when directly plugged into the laptop with a charge cable.
