iPhone email signature image not showing

I was changing the email signature image and then i got the same problem. I tried many things, html signature, testing outlook copy paste etc etc.

What did fix it for me was using Spark the email app from app store. I created a signature and pasted in the image from my picture library. Then opened a new email and copy pasted the whole signature. Paste it in the original mail app signature.

Fixed my problems!

I was having the same issue with my iPad and iPhone. The way below is worked for me.

1. Open a google docs on google drive
2. Add your image in that file
3. Adjust image and details on your signature
4. Copy the final version of your signature
5. Paste into your signature in mail settings iphone or ipad (At this stage i used universal clipboard hence i used Mac to create google docs file, but I suppose it will work same on iOS App of Google Docs)

Solution that ended up working for me - signature created as a html file with the company logo image as a referenced html link (not embedded image).

1. Emailed that file to myself as an attachment.
2. Open the attachment from the email in ipad / iphone which uses the detfault apple quickview
3. click on the button top right that is a square with an up arrow (usually where you forward / send to others etc).
4. Choose the "Copy" option which is the first item under the row of possible apps to send the attachment to.
5. jump out of that (dont send anywhere)
6. go to settings and mail signature.
7. select in the signature box and hit "paste."
8. all the formatting and the referenced logo / link magically pops in as it should.

It looks like when you "paste" a file it doesn't strip the formatting. Odd that you would have to paste as a file rather than pasting the contents of the file but hey... Might work with embedded images as well but haven't had to try that.

there is obviously something that has broken in iOS 13 regarding HTML signatures. Here is the fix for your mail app.

1. download Spark (you will be using this to create your signature only).
2. copy and paste the target signature into the spark app. You may or may not need to shake to undo attribute changes.
3. open a new email in spark and copy the signature that you just created from the new blank email.
4. paste the signature from the spark email into the signature for your iOS mail app via settings.
5. you can now delete spark and you should have a working signature. I literally just did this 5 minutes ago.

#2 On the serious side: The way you went about it is not quite the way I did, so let's see if this "recipe" works better for you, as it did for me:

• Create a signature in Spark (you have).
• Start a new mail in Spark. Do not send it.
• In the new mail in Spark, click the screen and then "Select all", "Copy"
• Discard the new mail in Spark.

Now go to the Settings -> Mail -> Signature, delete everything (a little cumbersome) and then paste

Directly from the Spark "new mail" - not using the native app at all, until you're done.

I believe copying from the native app removes some of the formatting.

Solution for me on iOS13.3 (Exchange account but should work for most account types):

Enable loading remote images as mentioned above.

Then...

Upload your logo/image to a web server or some place you can access the image online by typing the URL in your browser without having to login.

Open up Gmail or borrow a friends account to complete the following.

In Gmail settings go down to the Signature section.

Copy and past your signature and replace the image with the image tool in the Gmail toolbar.

Select Web Address URL in this window and in the pathway box type the URL (address of your image that works to show the image in your browser).

Once it shows click "Select" and the image should appear in your Gmail signature.

Save changes down the bottom and then send yourself an email from the Gmail account.

On your iPhone copy the signature on the received email to your iPhone signature.

Once pasted shake the phone as mentioned above and "Undo" styling changes (may work without this step).

Try sending an email with your remotely loaded image/logo and all should be working.

Put your Gmail account signature back the way it was.

I was a web designer for more than twenty years and know my fair share of code.

A lot of peeps scramblin' on this thread and I get it. A lot of you have questions that go deeper than what you ask. Policies and procedures are implemented by Apple to keep our precious data secure. Permitting unknown attachments to our emails may provide a possible open gateway for attacks. It makes sense they want to avoid that. One day, they may realize that their very clients don't have the International Brand recognition that Apple has, and as such, those same clients need to promote their brand. In their emails.

With that said, there are three things you can do to have a working email signature complete with an image on your device.

• Download the Spark App (I sell construction equipment, nothing in it for me)
• Upload your logo image to a secure file server
• Turn on/activate/ Show Remote Images in your email client settings

1. Go back back a few pages and follow the instructions to download Spark - Email App by Readdle. I was pleasantly surprised by the added features it has - like schedule to send at another date/time, but I digress.
2. Ask someone you know, or your company webmaster, to host your signature image (logo or whatever) on your server on the https side (secure). They would provide you with the URL that would look something like this.... https://yourdomain.com/secure/images/companyNameLogo.gif (as an alternative, you might be able to host your image in the cloud if the link is https) Name the logo image something simple like that. Email clients read the code behind the scenes, and better chance of showing appleLogo.gif then satanspawn.gif. Because you've included the URL instead of the image itself, it is not attaching anything to the email, it is showing a display box for a remote image. Some people on this thread have complained of seeing an empty box - you need to mod your personal settings in iOS to View Remote Images. Actually, same would be true in any email client. It's a caveat not confined to Apple, but EVERY individual's personal preferences in their email client's across the globe.
3. Turn on Load Remote Images - from my iPad, settings, mail, Load Remote Images.

Lastly, most company logos should be in gif or png format. Colors and text in the image only. The only time you want or need a jpg is for photos, for more color accuracy, but far from necessary. Gif and png are lightweight - like a few kbs. Light doesn't trigger spam alerts - because that is what EVERY email client on the planet is trying to detect. A crap-ton of links in your sig file, also can spark a spam alert.

Now, with all of this said, many individuals simply choose to look at all email with Simple Text, and for those, NONE of your HTML settings will work, no images will display and the font(s) you chose will default to Arial, helvetica, sans serif. So, avoid using your "corporate font" in a sig file, as the only peeps that will see it the way you intended, are those that have that very font built into the pc/laptop/ipad/lovoto/android/ device they are using at that moment. Use arial (MS) or helvetica (iOs) for consistency across all platforms. Not because I like it, but because EVERYONE has one or the other or both. Code has been written this way forever.

Hi, I can confirm that by using this method you can put your full signature and digital image/logo into your iPhone emails, first download the email app called Spark from the App Store, set up 1 email address to set up the app which very straight forward, then go to setting and find signatures and set up the signature you want to use in your iPhone emails, you can simply copy and paste your signature from an email you have sent yourself, assign this signature to the email address you set up, then close the settings, go to your email in Spark and create an email, do not send it, when the default signature loads simply select all and copy it, then open your iPhone settings scroll down to mail and select signatures find the email you want to assign the signature to and paste it in, you can then hake your device and click Undo, this will return the signature to its original formatting, and that’s it, it’s a bit long winded but I know this definitely works even with the latest iOS 13.5.1 update, good luck

I had this same issue. I tried numerous ways of copy/paste, trying to save the image in photos etc but nothing worked - meaning the photo/image would be pasted fine when editing the signature on the iPhone app but after hitting "back" and checking the signature again, the image would be replaced by a blank with a rectangular outline.

The way I got this to work again was as follows:

1. Open the Outlook signature on the MAC (either Outlook web or 365 application). Open Outlook settings and go to the signature editing setting and prepare the signature there using the editor available inside the Outlook settings page.
2. COPY the signature from inside the editor in the Outlook settings page. There is no copy button - so just highlight the whole thing including the image in the signature and use Command-C
3. Use the "COPY/PASTE ACROSS IOS/MAC DEVICES" feature (meaning copy on one device and paste on another) to paste this signature into the Outlook IOS App signature box (inside settings).
4. Voila! When you compose a new email the image will show up as you made it!

I was researching on this issue and found this thread.

Several input towards using a picture from an online server is part of the solution. But it turns out that there is a limit in iOS to the size of the picture. The limit is described elsewhere as being 320 pixels, and anything larger than that will result in null or nothing showed in the signature.

On iOS14 I found out that this will work with larger pictures:

1. Make sure the picture is on a webserver or shared in a picture-service, other has explained how to do this.
2. Create a .html file on your computer with this source code (replace the picture-url with your picture):

My HTML email signatures are created in an App Store App called "Email Signature Creator" and work fine with ios13. I did have some problems initially (which is how I found this thread), but after selecting "Load Remote Images" in iOS Mail settings, all worked perfectly normally (as per my comment near the very start of this thread). I'm not sure whether "Email Signature Creator" is doing something similar to what some users have found with "Spark", but I can definitely say that I have HTML signatures (a different one set for my three different email accounts) and they work exactly as expected in iOS13, including calling on remote images for logos, etc.

You know what? Apple isn't listening. I've spent valuable time with workarounds that sometimes work, sometimes don't.

Finally the solution is easier than one would think. Just ditch iOS Mail and use a different mail client. I'm using Spark as somebody recommended. It completely solves the signature problem, it even allows you to choose from several signatures for your email accounts (graphics and all). And it also has some nice additional features like scheduled email sending.

It's a pity one of Apple's most basic apps is not up to the task, but luckily there are alternatives out there.

Well I found a work around until Apple gets their **** together. I don't know why I always end up spending countless hours having to figure this crap out lol.

I don't know how to do this any other way because I am not that smart. Someone with HTML Knowledge could chime in.

• I use Outlook (Office 365) for my company email, so this is all I know how to do it with.
• Upload your logo/picture to imgur.com and copy the "Direct Link" should be the second option from the top.
• Open your signature in outlook. Click on the image in your signature, then click the "insert hyperlink button" You can also right click the image, and press link as well.
• Paste the direct link from imgur and click ok.
• Send an email to yourself > Open it in your iOS Mail App > Copy the email signature from the email you just sent yourself.
• Go to Settings > Mail > Paste the Signature into the account(s) you want to use it on > Shake the Phone > Undo Attributes. Your done.
• The reason I called it a "work around" and not a solution is because when you compose a message there is still a white box where the image should be but if it worked there should no longer be "null" written inside. When you send a test email you will see the image loads properly on the receivers end. It's not perfect but it works. It just doesn't look like it works when you are composing it.

Yeah its resolved but with an html file, not tried with an image format (.jpg, .gif, .png...). I coded it using tables an inline style properties (yeah, welcome 90´s again) becuase and external CSS file or modern properties are not supported.

Once you get the html file open it in your browser and check if your image (logo or whatever is showed) if not and you are using dropbox to link it you have to make a tiny change in the url, here it is a detaill explanation:

After being sure about the url, send an email form your computer to your iphone with the attached signature, copy and paste it in the signature location (general settings > mail > signature). Without leaving this screen shake your phone (the way to undo things in your phone), because as a default iOS is gonna a change your style (mostly related with typeface and dimensions).

Have you tried to send a blank email with your logo/signature from your laptop/computer to yourself? Then opened up your email on your phone, copy it and then paste it into the signature setting? That seems to be the only way the image does not disappear like it did before.
