Gmail and AOL Mail on iMac

My Gmail and AOL mail are constantly off line since the last software update. As of now I can’t even reinstall AOL account. User forum and Apple help phase is useless.

I am having troubles setting up gmail in Mail. Does any one had troubles setting up gmail in Mail in a MAC Pro? I had gmail in Mail for many years, but now is not working and when trying to reload it (from zero) my Mac gets stock. Basically it happens when I select GOOGLE as the provider. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Mail going off line On my iMac I use my gmail account in the Apple Mail app. It keeps going off line. It comes back online if I quit mail and then turn it back on. But it only stays online for maybe 5 mins.
