tvOS 13 broke turning TV on and off

Prior to tvOS 13, when I put Apple TV HD (4th gen.) to sleep using Siri Remote, it would turn off my Samsung TV (Samsung UN55KS800DFXZA), and would turn the TV back on when I started up the Apple TV again.

This function is broken in tvOS 13.

I tried turning this function off and back on in Apple TV preferences, restarting the Apple TV after each change, but still no joy.

Anyone else seen this problem?

To be more clear, I had previously disabled the CEC option, then restarted (or powered back on) with remote, then re-enabled the CEC option, then restarted with remote again, on both ATV and TV, but that did not help.

It was a physical disconnect of A/C power from both at the same time — for about a full minute, I think — that restored the functionality. But HDMI cable and the cable from the TV "Smart Hub" to the TV remained snugly connected.

Whether this solution works could vary by TV make and model, I suppose. What is your TV make and model?

I would continue watching this thread (and others as they appear), and report to Apple.

It worked before, so it should work again.

I was considering resetting either or both the TV and Apple TV to defaults and re-configuring from factory settings, but thankfully did not need to.

Hoping anyone who finds a solution will report it here and that it will help.
