Apple Watch series 5 vertical line on screen

I looked at some of the store displays and found the same issue so I canceled my Genius Bar appointment, don't really feel like going through the process of a new watch or screen to have the same issue.

I didn't talk to the Genius Bar, I talked to Apple support on the phone and they didn't give any reasons as to why. They just said the Genius Bar could either replace the watch or replace the screen but since the new has a good chance of the same issue I didn't want to waste my time. you are absolutely right, noticed mine when I was playing with a white background. It appears to be a manufacturing issue and it’s a problem. I got the stainless steel one and had mine replaced 3 times and they each had the same issue. This is a big issue and Apple needs to fix it.

I think it has been a problem since the series 3, I've found forums complaining about the same issue. I haven't seen any really on the series 5 but since I could see the same line of the series 5 display models I'm guessing it's common. Maybe because it's such a faint line most don't notice it but I'm a little OCD when it comes to my Apple products.

I have a very faint red vertical line running from top to bottom just right of the center of the screen that is visible on white screens. Its kind of annoying now that I know its there but I've seen similar posts on past series so I don't know if I should try to swap it out under AppleCare or not.

same here, just got mine on saturday and i noticed today that my apple watch series 5 nike edition is having same problem, 2 lines in the middle one is green and other is red, should i go to genius bar or is this common ?

just wanted to go to store tomorrow to make sure that display items are having same problem, so, is this common for apple watch series 5 ? Or the owners didnt notice it yet ?

Same here, i think everyone’s become ocd when it comes to any apple product, and if you already met the genius bar, did you ask why ? And are you ended up with same watch ?

I have the same issue and replaced the watch 2 times now and both have it. And both serial numbers start with the same letters...

Have the same issue with my 44mm grey unit. Found out the same way as you did. My heart told me to ignore it but my brain told me otherwise. Can’t accept a watch this expensive to have such defect. Prior to sending my watch for an exchange, I went around a few Apple stores (btw I lived in Malaysia) to check the Apple Watch display units whether they suffer from the same display defect, turned out that 90% of the units (only 44mm) did have the issue. Weirdly, none of the 40mm units I checked have this issue. So, in the end I went to a local Apple authorised service centre to have it replaced. Now I’m waiting for the replacement unit to arrive from Singapore. What a bummer.
