I am trying to assess previous photos I have sent my friends or family. But none of them are loading.
when I click the info button under messages and usually that is where all the pictures will it , the message pops up “shared links, photos, and more will be shown once massages finishes indexing”
does anyone know what that means?!?

I had this same issue after I utilized my most recent iCloud Backup for my new iPhone 11 Pro. Try going to Settings > Phone > My Number. My phone number was not entered under the 'My Number' tab. I entered my phone number and immediately everything repopulated (photos, links, etc).
I’m assuming, I did and it just started working fine
I can’t get this fixed either. Where is the Apple support??
This is not the case with my phone. My msgs were already on : (

Sadly I did. 50 wasn’t enough. I have that many memories and saves messages. The messages and pics in my messages wouldn’t upload. Apple is getting funny these days with the jokes they play

Any updates, I have tried every possible scenario and still no photos except if as many of you stated I scroll up. I see 32GB in the cloud but none are indexing and the Apple rep I have been working with continues to say wait for engineering to solve this but it's been 3 weeks.
This is exactly what i did as well and fixed mine immediately! I wish I had seen FionaC13's post earlier:

I fixed mine... tried all the other suggestions and none of them corrected the issue except THIS ONE
Here’s what I did.....
1) went to Apple ID signed in to access icloud
2) went to iMessage toggle and turned off
3)this prompts iMessage to disable and Download
4) when this prompts press download and disable messages as per picture below
5) attach your iphone to your charger and access wifi if not already
6) your images will start to download and you will start to see each contact iMessage add the images, attachments etc that’s where previous to the update you could just hit info beside the contact and all the images were there, they will appear again...
7) be sure to turn the iMessage toggle back on after disabling it, you don’t have to wait. Do this right away...
8) can’t believe Apple couldn’t have posted this LOL

This seems like a convenient move on apples end to conveniently have this update close to the holidays to have customers freak out and give in to their ultimate plan of offering quick fixes in the form of buying more iCloud storage. I’ve never stored or backed up my photos or msgs to the cloud so wherever they are currently storing my pics they need address quickly in a new update or they just lost me as a customer I respect my privacy way too much to bow down to their nonsense.
I don’t think you should’ve needed to have to purchase extra 200GB I’m sticking with my original theory that Apple conveniently did this. I won’t be surprised with a new update right after the holidays that addresses this.
This hasn’t worked for me. I had my phone plugged in and connected to wifi overnight.
After turning on Messages, it could take a while to index depending on WiFi speed or mobile data. I’m always on the road so for me it took a day or so I had a large message data file.
