I used to have to older generation Apple TV which had the optical audio plug in option. Now I upgraded my Apple TV and they took off the optical option. My sound bar only connects to optical, does anyone recommend an audio converter (HDMI to optical) that works with Apple TV?
You could connect the Apple TV to the TV, and then the soundbar to the TV.
Or: The HDMI Audio Extractors seem to perform the old function very well. (Pick a 4K/HDMI 2.0 one, if use plan to use it with Apple TV 4K.) This would act as a splitter for audio and video.

I see. Then you could use the mentioned HDMI Audio Extractor, which almost always features an optical audio output (S/PDIF), as well as stereo RCA.
I have a projector, so my audio has to be connected to the Apple TV itself. The projector only has the old RCA connection and the HDMI for the Apple TV. Which is why I’m having trouble.
