Sticky Apple Watch crown solved!
I ran my watch under warm water while turning the crown again and again and again but this solution was only temporary.
Thread is the answer. I saw a video of someone using dental floss but it didn’t warn against using waxed dental floss which I guess could make the problem worse.
I used a spool of thread a few days ago and my crown has been working like it was when the watch was new.
First, I filled my kitchen sink with warm water (after cleaning the sink thoroughly) then held my series 3 watch underwater while turning the crown for about 3 minutes. Then I dried the watch thoroughly with a lint free cloth.
Now onto using the thread:
It may help to have someone hold the watch for you but I did it alone by wrapping the end of the thread around a finger and holding the spool in my other hand. I held the watch with the hand that had the thread on my finger. Anyway you get the idea.
I then pulled the thread firmly to make it taut enough to slip between the crown and the watch body to contact the stem. I pulled the thread back and forth, working my way all around the crown stem. The thread I had broke a few times but it may have not been the strongest thread available. Maybe you want to try fishing line.
Well that worked for me. Please comment if you try this or if you come up with a better way.
