Just purchased a new iPhone 11 one week ago, and I am noticing that two to three times everyday it will restart by itself. It is a quick restart, black screen and then Apple logo. Any one else experiencing this issue? Very Frustrated after spending $800 on a new phone.

They searched the iPhone 11 and said they couldnt reproduce the problem. I had panic log they said you cant not restore your apps. Some software form the old phone an iphone 8 in this case is coming with the restore of apps.

So he basicly told me to install as new iphone and download app 1 by one 100 apps lol.

I told him if this happens again i will sue you.I had 3 full panic mode logs and apple is always blaming the restore of apps.

Befor i turned my phone in i did a reinstall of ios 13.2.2 and the reinstalled the apps.Apparently you can not do that in some cases. You need to install app 1 by one from the store.

I havent got the phone yet on tueday i will let you know how it went if it happens again i will throw a fit in the store.

If it works so fine then change it.

Had this problem from the time I got my 11 Pro Max. Initially thought that a software update would fix but with the most recent update it got worse restarting on average every 45 minutes. Spent 2.5 hours with Apple support, they ran diagnostics and said it wasn’t a software issue and sent me to an Apple Store in BAton Rouge. A tech, Cody, ran diagnostics and everything passed. He said the protocol was to try to factory restore the phone, and if that didn’t work to replace it. Spent another hour restoring the phone and immediately after he set it up it rebooted twice! He immediately told me they would replace the phone but that he needed to run additional deeper diagnostics on the affected phone. The results were “phone will start but there are other power issues” which I understood to mean that the issue was an internal, intermittent power fault causing the reboots. This problem only showed up on the last diagnostic test.

Anyway 2.5 hours with Apple support, 1.5 hours with Cody, I have a new phone that so far has not exhibited any problems. Hope this helps.

Returned iPhone11to Apple store, they confirmed it was a hardware problem, noting panic log files.

They handed me a new replacement in 5 min. No problems at all so far, it’s been two weeks!

Wish I had returned it sooner, I was dealing with the restarts everyday for a month!

Not happy about loosing my screen protector on the first phone, needed to buy it again on the new phone. Apple employee suggested I just lie and tell the place that I bought the protector from, ”that it fell off and need a new one.”

Hi,

i got a brand new iPhone 11 pro max 514gb for my wife, right after initial setup the phone kept restarting, every day was getting worse. Resetting the settings, updating to latest ios, resetting the phone settings and data, reseting it via iTunes with recovery procedure, nothing helped, just lost a lot of time and nerves for trying to get the most expensive apple phone ever, to functioning normally.

Today i contacted apple service, they said they will need 3 days to exchange the device!? I can understand that hw can malfunction, but reading the forum probably apple knowing the hw issues. At the end official service needs three days to replace the malfunctioning 1,5K euro device, this is disappointing!

My iPhone 11pro had same random restart issue with lots of panic.full.xx log entries . Gave it to Apple care who returned it saying no issue with the phone.

In less than a week the issue returned again and its back with Apple Care again. This time also had a good 15-20 panic.full.xxxxx along with some 20 Memory Reset log files. Every restart used to create either a panic log file or memory reset log file.

Now it’s 4 days since it’s with Apple Care, lets we what happens.

Really disgusted n repenting to get a iPhone, Android was much better.

I had this same problem. I did to resets- erasing my phone and then restoring to previous iCloud backups. But the problem came back. Then, I saw your post, specifically the second option- reset back to factoring settings and re downloading all apps. I tried this. And so far, the problem has not come back. It has not randomly shut off. For some reason, the new iPhone needs a clean IOS- not a backup from the iCloud Drive. Hopefully Apple can fix this later on. But for now, at least the problem seems to be fixed. I know it was a hassle, but it is a nice phone, the camera is well worth it, and we’ll worth the hassle. And why not go through those apps and decide which ones we really use anyway.

I had this exact same problem. The answer that the Apple support person gave below will not help. Check your data analytics. If it is an iPhone 11 Pro, you will find it under settings-privacy-analytics and improvements. Select analytics and improvements then analytics data on the next screen. Scroll down and look through every thing. If you see any thing that says “panic file” or the word panic before it, you have found the problem. Mine did this. When you see these panic files, it means there is a problem with the logic board (that is what they said at the geniius bar when I brought it in). It is a factory defect and needs to be replaced. In other words, the iPhone was having panic attacks. I got my replacement on the spot and the new one has been refectory.

I've had this problem ever since I got my 11 Pro. Tried deleting and reinstalling the apps that seemed to trigger the restarts, with no success. Ultimately I restored the factory settings and started over. No success. Went to the Apple Store, and they said the hardware was fine so suggested another factory restart, then installing only the apps I routinely use, rather than doing a backup from my computer. Their thinking was that with all the older phones I've had, perhaps something got corrupted in the backups. Still NO SUCCESS! Even though their diagnostics showed nothing wrong with the hardware, that's the only other source of the problem that has not been explored, unless there is a glitch in IOS. No one has addressed that yet. Any thoughts from the community on IOS 13 (now up to 13.3) being the potential culprit?

I had the issue of random restarts in my iPhone 11pro....was replaced after lot of visits to Apple Care.... Now the replacement phone also got into the same problem and its back with Apple Care.

Really disgusted. Seems a major problem with problem with the logic board of the phone. Both the times phone log was full of those panic.Full.xxx files...

One panic file gets created for each restart of the phone is what I have noticed. No amount of resetting or formatting the phone helps.

Sorry to hear about the second phone having the same issue. It was the logic board on mine as well and they replaced my phone on the spot. My new phone has not had any issues so far. I have also talked with friends who are computer hardware experts and they tell me that these things happen to all phones, computers and tablets. It is not a unique problem to this iPhone. They also said it’s really a rare occurrence as these problems are usually caught in the factory before being released - however, some phones get missed because the logic board issue develops over time/perhaps weeks. It quite unusual to have one phone with the issue much less two -though not impossible-just terribly unfortunate. Just remember this happens to any device no matter what the brand.

The problem with mine resolved to- with a replacement. After all the Troubleshooting, it would generally work for 3 days then the problem started all over again. Check in you data analytics folder and if you see a bunch of files that start with the word “panic” then the problem is a defective logic board and needs to be replaced. If you see panic files. The problem will come back. The only solution is replacing the phone. And that is what warranties are for.
