My iPhone 11 has a pink to red microphone in the upper left corner?

When The little microphone icon appeared, my dictations started duplicating everything I said. The microphone icon is the size of the location icon in the upper left at the very top and to the right of the time. I was experimenting with AssistiveTouch and think it was some setting there; but me and somebody from Costco at the Celular center tried to figure it out for about 45 minutes and could not get it to go away. It was nice as all my commands were immediately acted upon, and did not need to say hey Siri; but, when I hit the microphone icon in the bottom right to dictate a message, the words would be duplicated and sometimes mixed together creating peculiar sentences.

Hopefully somebody here will know how I got that turned on, as we could not figure out how to control that microphone icon which appeared after experimenting with assistive touch, and looking at all the commands for manipulating text and so forth, which worked fantastically.

I suspect it was listening all the time to whatever was said and waiting for a correctly worded command to implement. This was a brand new iPhone 11 with the last 2 - iOS 13 updates implemented.

Best,

Seth

I just partially figured it out. I was using assessability touch but three more down is voice control and I turned that on and the microphone appeared. And by the way it’s a white microphone inside a blue circle. I could’ve sworn yesterday it was pinkish red. Maybe it has to do if it’s listening or not. Maybe someone here can Explain how all this works. In fact, I’m sure it was pinkish red yesterday when I was at Costco with that fellow trying to help me. I just turned on voice control and a little tiny blue dot appeared where the location icon is located to the right of time with the microphone that’s white in the inside. I’m sure yesterday it was pinkish red. In fact, I’m sure it was pinkish red yesterday when I was at Costco with that fellow trying to help me. I’ve been experimenting with it again and it functions unbelievably perfect now. Perhaps the last iOS update fix the problem I was having with duplicated dictation words. But I can manipulate words within notes or pages and slack words, phrases, sentences, paragraphs copy them and search cursor to another location and paste something, undo, means open whatever app you want to. Say open app switcher and you can close whatever apps you want or you can say lock screen and everything is black, then you can say wake up, and there you are again. I tried dictating using the microphone at the bottom right within various apps and the duplication a longer being created. You can’t say open app switcher and you can close whatever apps you want or you can say lock screen and everything goes black, then you can say wake up, and there you are again. I tried dictating using the microphone at the bottom right with things various apps and the duplication or longer been created

If anybody has anything else to add, I’m still experimenting with this incredible feature, and wonder how long it’s been available to use like this as I’ve been searching the Internet for ways to manipulate tax with commands and not having much luck except placing commas or periods are going to a new line. Ja ja ja

I am absolutely please and amazed at the iOS 13 updates can what can be done, and just exploring a lot of different things. I’m trying to figure out the Shortcuts app as this is still a mystery to me how it works and trying to create a new shortcut I can’t get anything to work correctly. Whatever, I accidentally created three shortcuts that actually work. It’s like using commands with your voice but you use your finger and touch as the command sequence.
