screen artefact on MacBook Pro 2015

a screen artifact appeared recently that is a very well defined, grey shape that looks like a straight edge utility blade with a notch in it. It partly overlaps the menubar. It does not show up if I try to capture it with screenshot. I've restarted, updated sw, etc. Ideas

macbook air has large vertical line hey, so I logged off a zoom meeting today, only to find that my macbook air had a big black vertical line on the side, glitching lines on the bottom, and a large diagonal line through the center of the screen. this has never happened before, and it needs to be fixed soon because it is messing everything up. I have reset the mac and the smc and do not know what to do next. any help is appreciated :))

MacBook Air M2 Screen, Thin Grey Horizontal Lines Hi Community, My entire screen has started showing up with these thin grey horizontal lines. It is prominent on white pages. Any ideas why and what I can do about it?

I should add - this weird gray shape overlays any and all windows. And it doesn't move.
