Logix Pro X: Imported audio playing too fast

I imported an mp3 file into logic to trim it a bit. Nothing else is in the project, just a short mp3, but it's playing way too fast. The pitch is what it should be suggesting to me that the sampling rates are off but I checked and they're the same. Whats going on?

Logic speeding up inserted audio So a few days ago whenever I would insert a track downloaded from the internet onto Logic everything was fine and the track would play its normal speed. Now whenever I insert a track, the track is extremely sped up, I have even tried opening new projects but nothing seems to help

Logic Pro X Normilization trouble I cannot normalize audio. First I cannot double click the track so i use the short cut "E". Then, I can see the track under the "track " tab, but nothing when i click the "File" tab. Can someone help please?

Can you post a photo. Has anyone figured anything else out? I just found out and the issue today and do not have 200$ to upgrade logic. Which I use daily

SOLUTION: Updating to 10.4.7 was the solution for me. I was still using 10.4.5 when I upgraded to Catalina and this problem came up (wave file that I imported played extremely fast, no way to change that). Also importing small mp3 files (e.g. guide clues) caused LPX to hang. After upgrading to the latest version of Logic Pro (now 10.4.7.) both problems were solved.

Thank you @jobeaux! I was having this issue on MacOS Catalina 10.15.2, and upgrading to Logic Pro X 10.4.7 fixed my issue!!

Converting the audio file to .wav should solve the problem... it's annoying tho.
