Catalina — Recovery Mode Goes into Internet Recovery Mode Instead

I was using Catalina, and downgraded to Mojave, using a Mojave Time Machine backup. It failed being that Recovery Mode now boots into Internet Recovery Mode.


Running Diagnostics Test, no issues are found with the hardware. What’s going on?!

I sent the Mac yesterday. Got an eMail no more than an hour ago, saying it’s being “diagnosed”.


So, with AppleCare+, something will hopefully be fixed. We’ll see. I hope this gets solved, and, if it does, I plan to post what I am informed of: what it is that caused this issue.

A Recovery Volume did not work. Now, booting into Recovery Mode, I get a spinning globe, with the error shown below..


I did a chat on my phone last night; spoke with Apple today; showed this error and other issues to Apple.



Their Engineers are looking into it. I’ll post an update on where this all ends up..

I have the same problem here, it's not possible to download recovery. (Yes I have a fast internet...)

So i tryed to boot from a stick - no way! it's not possible, always it goes to recovery wich not work...

So i tryed to boot via Firewire Target mode. Its also not longer possible to install osx via target mode, Thank you Apple!


Now I have to go to a IT-Specialist.

So good luck for us...!
