2017 Imac Crashing after installing Catalina

I installed Catalina last night; shortly after install it began crashing. It will freeze and then puts me on a screen telling me my computer has shut down due to an error. When i reboot it warns me that my computer restarted unexpectedly. When i review the log is says it was a Kernel Panic. Any thoughts on how to trouble shoot this? Maybe some software causing the issue?

It seems that these reboots are connected to switched off Monitors (like I usually do at night) when Mac stays "on".

If I do not switch off the Monitors but leave them in "standby" the Mac reliably keeps running without reboot.

No - I do not regard this behavior as a MacOS Feature :(

Screens are connected via original Mac Adapters to DVI (one Thunderbolt to DVI and one HDMI to DVI).

I have been having this very same issue. Since I have updated to MacOS Catalina last night, my computer has been experiencing random crashes. I have never had 1 crash with this computer until last night. Same issue, kernal panic.

My computer is a 2018 MacBook Pro 15" 2.9 GHz 6-core Intel i9 with 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 of RAM with the graphics card always running, Radeon Pro Vega 20 4 GB.

There is no reason for my computer to experience these issues, especially since it has never crashed before. Please help.

After upgrading to Catalina, I also have the problem of constant crashes after sleep mode. Moreover, I lost bluetooth functionality (in system report under bluetooth "no information found"). I have a MacBook Pro, 13 inch, 2 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, 8 GB, 1867-Mhz LPDDR3, Intel Iris Graphics 540 1536 MB. Tried to reset SMC but that does not work. First installed the beta and hoped that the problem would be resolved in def version. Did a fresh install of the def version but problem still the same.

Crashing here too, twice in 4 days since I upgraded over the weekend to Catalina 10.15.1.

Model Name: MacBook Pro, 16GB RAM

Model Identifier: MacBookPro11,5

Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Core i7

Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz

Graphics card: AMD Radeon R9 M370X

I use 3 monitors: Laptop Screen, Thunderbolt, and HDMI

Both crashes have been while using MS Skype, sharing screen

Just another data point for folks.

Will try to remember to update if I can make the symptoms disappear.
