Since installing Catalina yesterday, multiple crashes from userspace watchdog timeout

I also have a Drobo and am experiencing this crashing when the screen goes to screen saver - pretty much every time. Wish there were a solution...

Same thing here. I have an eGPU w/Mac mini and this is constantly happening after upgrading to Catalina.

Doesn't crash when external displays disconnected....

My crashes after installing MacOS 10.15, Catalina, seem to have stopped after installing the latest OS update today.

This is the error I get:

panic(cpu 14 caller 0xffffff7f8d99cad5): userspace watchdog timeout: no successful checkins from com.apple.WindowServer in 140 seconds

I also want to mention that this seems to happen randomly (trackpad just dies and computer freezes), and also when the computer seems to want to start its screensaver.. or idle for too long.

Just to follow up. Sleeping my machine overnight caused it to NOT reboot on it's own. Seems this issue is only when the system sleeps on it's own (as another commenter mentioned).

This is actually happening even when not idle. Today happened maybe 5-6 times. Other days, nothing.

I did an SMC & NVRAM reset. No dice.

unfortunately I tried the SMC reset and it did not change anything.

I spent 3 days since my last crash and it happened while going out of sleep.

impossible to reproduce for sure
