Can a U.S. - bought iPad be traded in for an iPad purchase in australia?

I own a U.S. - bought iPad that is kind of getting slow and want to buy the latest iPad Air or iPad Pro.

I will soon be traveling in Australia and wondered if my current iPad is eligible for a trade in at a store in Australia?

Apple Australua’s website doesn’t say that the trade in is for Australia- bought devices only.
