Hello terrence28,

If I'm understanding you right, your hearing aid begins to pair with your iPhone but then never actually connects to it. I know it has to be pretty important to get your hearing aId connected successfully. I'm happy to help you out with this.

It's very important to have your iOS completely updated to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible. If you haven't updated your iPhone to iOS 13.1.2 yet, that would be the first step to take: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Once you've updated your iPhone, test out connecting your hearing aid. If the issue persists after updating, try these steps and test the connection after each one:

  1. Toggle Bluetooth off and back on again. Make sure you're doing this in Settings > Bluetooth, and not from the Control Center.
  2. Make sure your hearing aid is in pairing mode. If needed, check with the accessories documentation for help on how to do so.
  3. Restart your hearing aid and your iPhone.
  4. Verify the accessory you're trying to use is one that should be setup and paired in Settings > Bluetooth. This is important because some accessories may require being setup in third-party iOS apps. It's possible your hearing aid may actually need to be set up in Settings > General > Accessibility > MFi Hearing Devices.
  5. Make sure your hearing aid has the latest firmware installed on it. Some accessories require firmware updates to work properly with new iOS versions.
  6. If possible, reset your hearing aid to factory defaults. You may need to check the accessories documentation for help on this as well.
  7. Rename your iPhone in Settings > General > About > name.
