Podcast app crashes with new iOS update

Hello ukcj4 and welcome to Apple Support Communities.

I see you're having an issue with the Podcasts app crashing upon opening after updating to the latest iOS version.

First make sure you're updated all the way to iOS 13.2.1. If you're on that version and the app is still crashing, the best way forward is going to be to delete the app and then reinstall it from the App Store.

SOLVED! For anyone still experiencing this problem, I also failed to get any of the suggested solutions to fix this (tried the “one second App hold”, uninstalling the app, cycling my phone after hard reboot, etc) BUT I finally got it fixed after double checking in my settings to see if there was an IOS software update ready to be installed. And there was🤦🏼‍♂️

So I downloaded IOS 13.2.3 and... YAHTZEE!!!!

Apple podcast app stopped working after ios 13 update. Am currently at ios 13.2 on iPhone 8. I’ve deleted the app and downloaded it again multiple times. The app will work for a day, then crash. Have lost access to many podcasts I’d downloaded over the years. I’m able to use other podcast apps with no problem. All other apps work normally. Have given up on Apple Podcast App.

Since the recent Apple Podcast updates, the app is not working as it should. After asking Siri to skip 2 minutes, the podcast stops playing. You have to ask Siri to play podcast again to resume. This is not how it supposed to work. It's very frustrating. In Apple Music there's no problem at all. You can perform the same skip 2 minutes command while playing a song, and as soon it skips the 2 minutes, the music resumes. And in the App Store, users are not able to rate the app anymore (?). Something is very wrong with the Apple Podcast app since the recent updates. Please help

I downloaded iOS 13.2.3 about 2 weeks ago, podcast app just started crashing every time I open it. Have restarted phone, checked for app updates, deleted and reinstalled the app - nothing works. Iphone 10x

I am running iOS 12.4.3 on a 6 Plus. I have not updated the software recently, and just today the Podcasts app has become unusable. The app crashes after just a few seconds or will not launch at all. I have tried deleting the app and reloading from the App Store to no avail: the app continues to crash. Beyond frustrating.

So all informations in here did'nt helped me.

Phone : iPhone XS

OS: 13.2.2 / 13.2.3 ** WAS Crashing before i updated. I Tried to see if it was fixing the prob **

I tried :

1- Force quit the app.

2- Hard restard of the phone with the app closed

3- Uninstall / Reinstall PodCast App.

None of these fixed the problem.

App is opening .. and after a fews seconds (like 20-30sec) of listening music. It closed by itself.

Will you lose downloaded episodes if you delete the app?

I am on IOS 13.1.3 and this just started happening today. Come on apple. Give us a better reply than reboot your phone and uninstall/reinstall the app.

Many of us experiencing the issue are already on 13.2.3, though. So this "fix" won't work for all.
