Unable to share screen on Skype or Zoom after Catalina upgrade

Since upgrading to Catalina on my MacBook pro13, when i share my screen in Skype or Zoom the other parties on the call can only see my desktop image.

Skype screen sharing problems with mac os Catalina Since I updated to the version 10.15 of Mac OS Catalina I am not able to share the screen in Skype. Everytime I try to share screen, it is sharing a screen that is none of the active ones. Everybody sees an empty screen that I am not able to locate.

Can't Share Screen of iMac M1 running Monterrey from MacMini Running Catalina I've just put up a new iMac 24" M1 running Monterrey, migrating from an older iMac (2012) running Mojave. Everything works fine so far, except for screen sharing. I'm using a 2012 MacMini running Catalina as a Screen Sharing client. I can connect and log in to the iMac just fine. The problem is the screen sharing window on the client is black - I see nothing of what's on the iMac's screen. I can see the mouse pointer moving, but that's all; the rest of the screen sharing window is black. I've tried everything I can think of and haven't been able to move the ball on this. As nearly as I can tell, I've got everything configured correctly, and had no problems with screen sharing before moving to the new iMac M1 / Monterrey. So far, I've been unsuccessful in finding anything in the forums that addresses this particular issue. Any help is much appreciated!

Zoom/Skype freezing on new Macbook pro Catalina 64 bit Having a problem with my new Macbook pro and Zoom/Skype, which are freezing--I sometimes get an "unstable connection" error message. I keep my old Macbook pro (El Capitan) next to the new Mac, and when I switch to the old computer in the middle of a call, the problem disappears. I have updated both Zoom and Skype, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Need these apps for work (college prof)- Is it because of the switch from 32 to 64 bit? That shouldn't be causing the problem, but I am not a tech person. Any thoughts? C

Same issue.

Try: settings --- Security & Privacy ----Screen Recording, and check Zoom

You're welcome. Like you said, works for Skype, Camtasia or any other similar software
