Is AppleCare available in India?

Hi Guys,

Please help me out in clearing my doubt.

I want to buy a new Unlocked iPhone 11 Pro Max from US and then use it in India. I want to buy the AppleCare for the same device.

Now I have several doubts:

  1. Is AppleCare available in India?
  2. Is my new iPhone 11 Pro Max will get International Warranty?

In any of the cases Do I get my device serviced in India.

Please respond.

Either you were given incorrect information, or you didn't as the right questions. Here are the FACTS:

  1. If the receipt says Unlocked then it is. If the receipt doesn't say so it isn't. And if you didn't buy it directly from Apple it absolutely is NOT unlocked. No other seller in the US sells unlocked phones, no matter what the salesperson says.
  2. THERE IS NO INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY ON IPHONES. PERIOD. NONE. You can get a warranty in the country where you buy the phone, but it is only valid in that country (except for the EU, which is considered a "country" for warranty purposes. As you specifically mention India there are thousands of posts in these forums from people who bought phones in the US and could not get them serviced in India.
  3. You can buy AppleCare+ in India, but only if the phone was purchased in India. You cannot get it for a phone purchased in the US.

You don't have to believe me, but when you try to get a US phone serviced in India you will find out for yourself that what I and others have said in this thread is correct.

Hello,

Though this thread hasn’t been updated in a while, we identified an opportunity here to provide some clarity about the use of AppleCare+ around the world.

AppleCare+ for iPhone is available in India. AppleCare+ must be purchased in your country of residence, as the Terms and Conditions are subject to the local regulations.

AppleCare+ does provide coverage outside your country of residence, for example, when you are traveling. Service fees and service options will be limited to the options available in the country where you request service.

You can find more information about AppleCare+ for iPhone here: AppleCare Products - iPhone - Apple (IN)

Take care!

Let me repeat what is in the post right above yours. While it refers to India, it is true for any phone not bought in the country where it will be used:

Here are the FACTS:

  1. If the receipt says Unlocked then it is. If the receipt doesn't say so it isn't. And if you didn't buy it directly from Apple it absolutely is NOT unlocked. No other seller in the US sells unlocked phones, no matter what the salesperson says.

  3. You can buy AppleCare+ in India, but only if the phone was purchased in India. You cannot get it for a phone purchased in the US.

So the general answer is you can use it in the Philippines if it is unlocked, but the warranty will not be honored in the Philippines.
