That should be this one then: iPod Photo User's Guide. It's on a third party site, as Apple don't seem to be hosting a copy any longer.

Finally discovered that it is the 4th generation iPod.
the question remains: how do I get a users guide for this iPod?

don’t have the FireWire cable anymore but other than that it works fine.
any idea which year this one came out?
2004 or 2005 depending on exactly which variant it is.
