black screen in Catalina
I'm suffering from a black screen on my MacBook Pro after every sleep event.
Only way out is to hit the off button and restart every single time.
Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks

This appears to work as a solution.
This was NOT my idea, but from another Black Screen thread but I can't get the link thread to work.
Restart your computers in SAFE MODE (hold down the shift key during the reboot)
You will know if you have correctly entered SAFE mode because it appears in RED in the menu bar
In SAFE MODE my laptop returned to normal Wake / Sleep behaviour including closing and opening the lid.
Then RESTART as normal (literally make no other change, just restart SAFE restart normal) and it seems to be FIXED !!!
I’m almost there myself and I’m sure we are not alone.
I'm experiencing this exactly problem.
I removed files from Library, put them back after restart and yesterday I downgraded to Mojave.
Hope Apple find a solution soon.
I deleted all my J5create extensions just like mentioned above and i'm still experiencing these issues....so frustrating.
The solution is to disable your computer from going to sleep? This doesn’t seem like a solution. Apple needs to fix this immediately.
I did it, but didn't worked.
I'm using Mojave right now and it seems fine.
MacBook Pro2019.
Thank you for that advice. That at least makes me feel alot better soft rebooting the system rather than a hard reboot.
Go to folder /library/extensions and if there is a file in that folder "Trigger5Core.kext", move it to the trash and empty the trash.
i had same problem too. after remove Trend Micro PC cillin (antivirus) is ok.
I too do not see the 'automatic graphics switching' option, but I do not see where the link you point to addresses this problem.
I’ll reinstall Catalina from scratch, will wipe all my data and see if this issue disappears.
Issue is resolved for me by updating to 10.15.1, no other actions required.
Hmmm. I did that and still no joy.
EDIT: Fast User Switching may have something to do with this as well. Make sure it's enabled.
Confirming the latest 10.15.1 resolved this for me as the update recognized the incompatible extension and blocks it from causing the issue.
None of the methods worked for me, I even tried the update but no success. Any other solution?
