black screen in Catalina
I'm suffering from a black screen on my MacBook Pro after every sleep event.
Only way out is to hit the off button and restart every single time.
Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks

This appears to work as a solution.
This was NOT my idea, but from another Black Screen thread but I can't get the link thread to work.
Restart your computers in SAFE MODE (hold down the shift key during the reboot)
You will know if you have correctly entered SAFE mode because it appears in RED in the menu bar
In SAFE MODE my laptop returned to normal Wake / Sleep behaviour including closing and opening the lid.
Then RESTART as normal (literally make no other change, just restart SAFE restart normal) and it seems to be FIXED !!!
Mac mini 2018 doing same thing , have to hard reset to boot up .
This is not a solution, and did not work for me. I reached out to Apple and they are clueless.
I am sure of those files but some of the following one I am not sorry, this pic. has been retrieved from my time machine
I removed all these and it is working now. No clue which one is the problem but I'm not going to try and figure it out.
You didn't have to remove all those...
Hi,
on my 2017 MacBook Pro with macOs Catalina 10.15 I don't have the option "Automatic graphics switching" mentioned by https://discussions.apple.com/profile/ltrecartin:
Anyone know why my Energy Saver settings are different? I'm on Catalina as well. Maybe because it's an older Mac?
yes i am going to use my time mach to restore back to before i updated . going to have one machine running mojave’s and one catalina
hope a fix is in the works
Exact same issue. Reset SMC And NVRAM. Stuck on a blank screen any time the computer reboots. Only way to resolve is to hard restart computer.
Same for my MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015).
Same issue here. Resetting SMC And NVRAM did not work for me. Even tried reinstalling the OS which also didn't work.
Oh that's good to know. Was going to try reinstalling Catalina, looks like I won't bother now.
MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) is having the same thing! is there any fix out already?
Same problem for me, tried resetting NVRAM and SMC. Late 2016 MBP
Edit: Sorry posted in the wrong thread
