With the pending update to 64 bit only apps in Catalina, I want to review my installed apps using "About This App" to list those applications which are not 64 bit.
However when I select Applications using System Report in About This Mac in El Capitan it says "no information found". It used to work.
Any suggests how to fix About This Mac so it lists my applications?

Look at the Privacy pane, if your disk in in the Privacy pane, then Spotlight is effectively off.
Is Spotlight disabled on your Mac, if so turn it on, the information requested relies on Spotlight.
Yup, odd. On my iMac I have two Applications folders. One is located on the root of the HD and contains all my apps. It has the embossed A folder icon. The other is in the Users/Home folder and contains nothing. I've tried using the "Other" option in Go64 to scan both folders with no luck.
When Apple announced the demise of 32 bit apps last year, I used the System Report to view my apps and identified a few which were 32 bit. It worked as it should at the time. Just not now. Most apps I've replaced but still need to weed out the few stragglers.
Are you comfortable using the Terminal app. Terminal is in the Applications/ Utilities folder.
If so you could type in this text.
sudo mdutil -s (drag the icon of your Macintosh HD from the Desktop to here)
make sure there is a space after the s before you drag the icon over.
Press Return
Now enter your Password, any typing you do will not be shown on screen press Return
The result will tell you if indexing is enabled or not.
If indexing is not enabled then this command will turn it on.
sudo mdutil -i on (again drag your disk icon to here)
Press Return
Enter Password
Press Return
It should tell you that indexing is enabled.
If you want to check then click on the Spotlight icon in your menubar and enter a word or name of a folder/ file that you know exists on your Mac. If it is indexing then you should see a progress bar.
The "no info found" comes up immediately, no delay. I've left it open for several minutes now and nothing is found. Sadly Go64 can't find my applications (which are in the Applications folder):
Spotlight is checked in System Preferences, all options selected. No On/Off switch that I can see...
The privacy pane is empty. On the change that I might have corrupted OS I did a clean install of El Capitan. No luck.

So you are still not seeing any Apps appearing in the System Report, that is very odd indeed.
