MacintoshHD icon
I have a MacintoshHD icon on the desktop and under "Locations". I wold like to keep the one under Locations but how do I get rid of the desktop icon?

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities. I'd be happy to provide the steps for removing the Macintosh HD icon from your desktop.
To remove it, open the Finder. Then, go to Finder in the menu at the top of your page > select Preferences > the General tab > de-select Hard Disks.
