I reached out to Hallmark. At first they said it should be compatible at this time. I then sent them screen shots of the messages Catalina was generating (i.e. needs updating 64 bit). Hallmark then acknowledged it is not compatible and said the 2020 version will be compatible. That is, no patch or update planned and we have to wait and pay for next version. I expressed my disappointment and recommend all impacted do likewise.

We regret that Hallmark Card Studio for Mac 2019 (and earlier) will not run on MacOS 10.15 Catalina.

These applications were designed to run on 32-bit operating systems. Up to MacOS 10.14 Mojave, they would also run on 64-bit operating systems.

A new edition of Hallmark Card Studio for Mac is expected to be published in 2020. It will be 64-bit-only and will run on Catalina. Registered users will be notified of its availability.

This will not be a free update, but there will be a discount for existing users.

Unfortunately, to run Hallmark Card Studio for Mac 2019 (or earlier versions) you will need to use the previous operating system version such as MacOS Mojave.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

I was told by the company who sells the Hallmark Card Software that it would not be compatible until January 2020. At that time they will release the new version. Until then, we are completely out of luck, the 2018 and 2019 software will not run under Catalina. Although there is 2020 Hallmark software available, be very cautious, it is not the MAC Version.

I just received this announcement from Hallmark Card Studio:

Dear Hallmark Card Studio for Mac 2019 Owner,

Hallmark Card Studio is not currently compatible with macOS Catalina (10.15). At this time we are recommending our customers to not upgrade to macOS Catalina if they need to continue using Hallmark Card Studio for Mac.

We are currently testing an update for Hallmark Card Studio for Mac 2019 which will be released this fall. This free update will bring full macOS Catalina support to your software. Download instructions for this free update will be automatically sent to you once the update is available.

Sincerely,

The Hallmark Card Studio Team, an authorized Hallmark Licensee.

I just called Hallmark, yesterday. Was told (from Tech Support) that 2020 should be coming out during November. Not sure I believe that but what do we do in the meantime? Holiday time and no cards? *gasp* I was told to call Sales when I asked whether it would still be an Upgrade fee vs New fee (I have Card Studio 2018). Sales said "You will get the entire program". Thanks. Not what I asked.

I also have the 2018 Card Studio, wondering if they will give us the update... with my luck I will end up paying for a new one... I have been needing to use it lately, so I went on Avery.com they have templates you can use for free, cards, labels, ... graphics not a lot but you can import. Insert your own words ,many fonts available .. hope this helps some of you who are in need of cards, labels etc..

I downloaded the updated Hallmark Card Studio 2019 that is supposed to be Catalina compatible from link Hallmark sent. Program downloaded, installed and opened like it should. I did not have time to test in thoroughly but it seems to be fine so far. The program opened and looked like it always did. I will do more testing soon but it appears to be fixed.

I had purchased 2019 earlier this year. This was after I had upgraded to Catalina (beta). So, I was not ever able to use the software. Now, the “fixed” version is not working — labeled as defective by the system. And, I just recently tried to download the installer posted by Hallmark yesterday. It apparently has been taken down. Still waiting...

This evening (Nov. 15, 7 pm EST) I received the following from Hallmark.

Dear Hallmark Card Studio for Mac 2019 Owner,

We recently emailed you an update for Hallmark Card Studio to bring macOS Catalina compatibility to Hallmark Card Studio. Unfortunately, many of you who downloaded this update are getting errors when trying to launch Hallmark Card Studio. We are sorry these problems were not caught in our testing and we are working hard on a new update that will fix this issue.

Thank you for being patient while we work on this fix. We are very committed to making it right and we will be following up with an email with download instructions to an update that will launch properly with macOS Catalina.

Sincerely,

The Hallmark Card Studio Team, an authorized Hallmark Licensee.

It looks like Hallmark will be providing a fix for the previous update. Fingers crossed!

I had a problem too. I could not download it after I upgraded to Catalina. I really am sorry I upgraded. but anyway, I was able to purchase a new version of Printshop but had to make a new log-in called "Root", download the new printshop, then I could go back to my original log-in and the printshop has been working great. (I have had to go into guidelines a lot, but I finally got it and am happy with it. I don't even really need the hallmark now.
