IPad Pro 10.5 connects to sidecar but then freezes after awhile

The sidecar app works fine between my MacBook pro 2019 and my iPad pro 10.5 for a couple minutes but eventually, the mouse will no longer move to the iPad screen, and the screen completely freezes.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I would like to know so that it is a known common issue with the macOS Catalina update. Hopefully it'll be resolved.

Hello,

This is not a known problem. With a new operating system bugs can appear without Apple's knowledge. I ask that you please submit a bug report so Apple can address them in future updates.

I have the same issue.

Using iPad Pro 12.9inch wifi 2nd gen with a 2017 13inch MacBook Pro with 16gb ram.

When I first connect wirelessly, it works fine for a few minutes, then freezes.

I have to disconnect and reconnect to initiate again. Thankfully, all workspace remains same so don't have to drag any windows all over.

I get a few more minutes use and freezes again.

Also, for some reason, I cannot connect wired. iPad screen goes blank and reports error 32002.

I still have this issue with wired connection, and went through a long conversation with support to identify the cause and unfortunately we didn’t get there yet. They suggested that a couple of apps and services might be disrupting the connection – in my case Cleanmymac, Bitdefender (on Mac) and a free VPN client (on iPad) might have been the culprits, but deactivating them in turn didn’t improve the connection.

I am having the same issue. I am using a 2017 15" Macbook Pro with the original iPad Pro. It works for a few minutes, then once you look away and come back to it it is completely frozen. The mouse appears to still move off of the Macbook into the iPad ether but nothing happens, no response or feedback. You can still use the sidebar options but nothing else.
