Trying to update to Catalina...

It gets to the point where I choose what drive I want to install to, but the drive is greyed out and says this when I click on it-

"This volume currently has AppleConect 2.9.9.8 installed. You must install at least Apple Connect 3.5 on this volume to begin installation"

Ive called apple 3 times and nothing has been fixed. I have restarted the cpu, reinstalled Mojave, etc. Im running a 2015 MacBook Pro with over 700gb still open.

Can you do a clean install of Catalina, ie erase your existing boot volume, rather than an in-place update? Perhaps just run Disk Utility to erase the volume you wish to install Catalina on, so that there is nothing there to complain about not being the "correct" version? Not sure if the BootCamp volume will complicate this suggestion or not, so might want to do a bit more research.

Good luck...
