Notes app is missing the old drawing icon since iOs 13

I used to create Notes using my Apple Pencil (1st gen) on an iPad Pro 12.9 inch all the time. I use it for IT analytics, planning, working on projects together, ...

When I first got my iPad, there was a drawing icon that created an empty screen-full page, if necassary with help-lines, where you could let your imagination go ...

Since iOs 11 or iOS 12 (I don't remember) Apple decided to add a new functionality to draw your notes inside the Note, instead of doing it on a separate page. But it was still possible to do it the old way: Click on the + sign and you were able to create a screen-full page.

Since iOs 13 this feature is gone!

I'm only able to write notes inside the basic note-screen. Meaning that I manually have to close the left treeview of my notes, I don't have a page-notice anymore, I'm unable to use helplines, ...

Is there still a way of using the previous drawing-style?

That icon is visible.

But that is the “new” way.

There used to be a +-sign next to it, to create a “page” and not an line drawing ...

I’ll try to take a picture of it on an older ipad ...

This is on an older iPad, still on v12:

Notice the +-sign next to the pencil.

When you click on this +-sign, you could choose "Voeg tekening toe" (This is the Dutch/Flemish version, but I assume it would be "Add drawing" on English versions), and you'll get a page-full design screen:

Where you can add new pages and reopen pages and ...

Nevermind about the help-lines: I noticed they are gone in v12 on the old drawing screen and are new located in the basic Notes screen.

Probably I'm expecting too much of this and Apple decided to get rid of the page-style working way, and I should adapt myself to this inline way of working :-)

Hello,

Is the Shortcuts bar enabled in Settings > General > Keyboard? This is where the Markup option was relocated in iPadOS 13.
