Catalina, Mail, and Load Remote Images problem

Anyone else having this problem with Mail in Catalina: when I click on Load Remote Content in an email, the entire email just goes blank. Even the text that was in the email before I clicked on Load Remote Content disappears. The email is still there in the sense that I can exit that email and then select it again whereupon the text returns. That is, the email hasn't been deleted. But I can't load any graphics or other remote content into the email, and, as I said, when I try to load graphics, even the text vanishes from the email, at least until I leave the email and return. Weird as heck - Load Remote Content just presents a blank email. Any ideas?
